The Stranger (1946) is an America film noir/drama starring Orson Weles, Edward G. Robinson, and Loretta Young. Welles also directed the film, which is believed to be the first film released after Word War II that showed footage of concentrations camps.
The film was nominated in 1947 for an Oscar – Best Writing, Original Story by Victor Trivas.
SYNOPSIS
In 1946, Mr. Wilson (Edward G. Robinson), an investigator from the War Crimes Commission, travels to Connecticut to hunt for infamous Nazi fugitive, Franz Kindler (Orson Welles), who has effectively concealed all evidence which might positively identify him.
