Free Summer Family Movies Under the Stars on the Norwichtown Green

Thursday, June 16th, 2011

(Norwich, CT) – The Norwich Community Cinema Foundation (NCCF) will screen free, family-oriented films for the public this summer on the Norwichtown Green. Last year’s screening of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory on Chelsea Parade was a huge success and the non-profit cinema group is expanding its public offerings for 2011. “We had great feedback from the crowd,” reported Sandy Quarto, President of the NCCF, “Many in the audience last year thanked us for doing this and asked when we would do it again.” The foundation, with the financial support of area businesses, will show two films this year. The films will be shown on the 2nd Saturday of July and August.

July 9th – Princess Bride
August 13th – How to Train Your Dragon

Both films will start at dusk.

Bring blankets and lawn chairs and come early. The events will be held rain or shine. In the event of rain, the films will be moved to Slater Auditorium, on the campus of Norwich Free Academy and shown at 8:00pm.
